Full description

What is more typically Tuscan than the Chianti countryside? What image of this fantastic region is more emblematic than that of the gentle hills covered with olive trees, vineyards and cypresses? It is an area where beauty is not only physical but it is something I would dare to describe as spiritual. It is the atmosphere that makes Chianti simply magical and, during the spring, summer and early fall days, everything becomes even more fascinating. To appreciate all this, there is nothing better than a some slow and relaxing horse riding in Tuscany! Enjoying the colours, scents and, without any engine in the background, the pleasant sounds of the countryside, will be a wonderful experience. Horseback riding in Tuscany is a great way to discover this region at a slower pace cadenced by the horse's gait. It is said that 'a horse is not enough to become a knight' but don’t really agree with this! During your entire time while horseback riding in Tuscany, Italy, in fact, you will feel just like proud riders and horsewomen of the past, even if this is your first time on a saddle! It will take you no time for you the get into the role!

The horse riding in Chianti that we propose will take place in a way that will enable everyone, even beginners, to enjoy the best of the experience. First of all you will be accompanied on a comfortable minibus to a picturesque farm outside of Florence. Here, your riding instructor will give you a short lesson so you can enjoy your Tuscany horse riding complete safety. It is not too difficult and everyone can do it but if, for some reason, you do not feel like it, you can rely on the help and support of our staff. For your Chianti horseback riding the utmost importance will be given to your safety so that everything can be done without any dangers or problems. Once ready for one of the most beautiful Tuscany horseback tours, you will put on a horse riding helmet and you will set off for your adventure!

What will you see during our pleasant Chianti horseback tour? You will ride up and down the rolling hills, between vineyards and olive trees which produce great wine and an excellent olive oil. You will walk along the white streets under the warm sun and reach enchanting villages and fantastic medieval castles. After the end of the walk, which will last about an hour, you will return to the farm from which you left for your horseback ride in Chianti.

The fun experience does not end here! The air and the Chianti excursion by horse will make you hungry and we at toscanainside have more things to suggest! You can enjoy a typically Tuscan meal during which you can taste many of the delicacies that this region has always offered to those who visit it. Do you want some anticipation to make your mouth water? Think of tasty salami, equally tasty cheeses and excellent extra virgin olive oil. Therefore, bear in mind that, as the Italian saying goes,  ‘you cannot build a dry wall’ and so equally we will quench you dry mouth with a rich tasting of the best wines of the area. On the other hand, your Chianti itineraries on horseback will have developed right among the rows of vineyards from which famous wines worldwide are produced, such as the Chianti Classico DOGC. Yes, just like the one with the black cockerel on the label. What do you think? Have we convinced you?

The excursion by horse in Chianti will let you breathe in the clean air of the countryside, give you the chance to admire breathtaking landscapes, enjoy the enchanting atmosphere of times gone by and enjoy good food accompanied by fine wine. What are you waiting for? Get organised right away and do not miss the chance to go riding a horse in Chianti. It could be a romantic idea to share with your sweet half: can you imagine riding along side by side just like heroes of a Medieval novel? Or is this too soppy for you? Well don’t worry, because the horseback Chianti itineraries are fun and engaging even for a good group of travel companions. Just do not think of playing the parts of Indians and cow-boys! Same thing goes if you want to spend an alternative day with your family. Just bear in mind that in Chianti riding a horse like we offer in our tour is only suitable for children of over fourteen years of age. Younger children will have to wait and to make do with rocking horses! But we can assure you that for older children it will be a truly fun activity: for a few hours they will forget about technology and smartphones and immerse themselves completely in nature... and what a nature too!

Whether you are young teenagers, a family, a friend or a lover, on the way back you will bring wonderful memories with you of a genuine and evocative Tuscany... and in your ears you will still hear the cadenced sound of the hooves of your horse.
