You cannot visit Tuscany without going on a tour in Chianti! Even if you have decided to enjoy the art heritage cities or explore the wonderful coastline, you have to make a stop in this fantastic region. Chianti, without taking anything away from the other beautiful parts of Tuscany, is the true heart of the region: a heart that still beats at the rhythm of history, culture, traditions, gastronomic excellence and postcard views! Have you ever seen the gentle hills dotted with cypresses and olive trees and covered with neat rows of vines? Yes, that’s exactly what we are talking about! And you know a really nice way to visit the wonderful Tuscany countryside? By bike! What we propose is in fact a fun Chianti bike tour thanks to which you can spend fantastic moments discovering the wonderful Tuscan countryside.

You will spend a beautiful day in Tuscany by bike, a day that will also be full of surprises... some of which will really make you lick your lips! The path you will follow is roughly 15 kilometre long, including necessary stops to rest and to admire the landscape that surrounds you. In the end that’s the nice thing about riding a bike: you can stop wherever you want whenever you want! The itinerary actually requires a minimum of training and is good for those who are used to moving and doing sport: that is why it is not suitable for children under the age of 14. If you are comfortable types (sofa and remote control people, in other words) it might not be the right tour for you. But you never know, the beauty of the landscape could be a good antidote to laziness! Much of the route will cover tarmac and low-traffic roads, allowing you to go for your bike tour around Toscana in peace and safety: we will face some uphill parts but nothing too challenging. Besides, Chianti is famous precisely for its hills... you cannot always pedal on the flat land!

Our bike tour Chianti has been designed to let you enjoy the day without facing any danger or difficulties. That's why the route from the city centre - where we will meet - to the nearest bicycle paths in the countryside, will be made on a comfortable minivan. Once you arrive at your destination - a sumptuous Renaissance villa in the heart of Chianti - you will find bicycles, a helmet and a water bottle waiting for you. Each of you will have a modern bicycle with 21-24 gears that will make it easier for you to climb and descent the hills. In this adventure we will not leave you alone: to accompany you on one of the most beautiful bike tours in Tuscany there will be our expert tour guide ... you will just have to follow him go round Toscana by bike! But don’t worry, for the beauty of the landscape will make up for the effort, what’s more, you’ll almost forget about it! It will be fun to go up and down the hills, go along the rows of vines from which one of the world's most famous wines is produced. We are talking about the king of Tuscan wines: Chianti! As you pedal, we recommend that you drink only water but you will see that during the day you will have the chance to taste this delicious red nectar. Among the hills and along the sunny white streets you will encounter enchanting villages and medieval castles. Yes, because Chianti is not only nature and wine, but also history: it has always been an important area contended during hard battles between Siena and Florence. Visit Chianti by bike following the tour leader to discover some testimonies of times gone by that made this territory so important, and your guide will not fail to tell you interesting stories and anecdotes about it.

Our Chianti bike ride, as mentioned above, will cover 15 km: from the gates of Florence you will reach fantastic areas, surrounded by the lush vegetation of the beautiful Tuscan hills. Halfway through your Chianti bike ride, you will visit two different types of Chianti wineries and have the additional opportunity to taste some local traditional products. The first is well known for producing some of the most renowned wines within its majestic cellars. The second, instead, could be defined as a small but elegant 'boutique of flavour' and here you will learn about the various techniques of production, aging and bottling of wine and olive oil.

After this refreshing break, you will get back on your bike for the second part of this unmissable Tuscany bike tour in Chianti, which will take you to the starting point, where you will find a reward and fuel to replenish your muscles. In the cozy location of the restaurant, we will offer you a tasty meal based on typical Tuscan produce, accompanied by wines made in the cellars that you previously visited.

At the end of the meal, you will leave your bicycles and be escorted to the centre of Florence on a minivan, at the meeting point from which you left. Perhaps you'll be a bit tired, but you will still have printed in your mind the image of the fascinating beauty of the Tuscan countryside with all its fantastic shades of colour! Discovering Chianti by bike is definitely a fascinating and unforgettable experience. A special memory you will treasure forever and that will undoubtedly make you want to return to this wonderful region. And we can’t blame you!
