Join one of the best Chianti wine tours from Florence! Visit a Chianti winery and enjoy an unforgettable wine tasting experience on a day trip with toscanainside.com. Experience the most traditional flavours of this fascinating area and discover the charming village of Greve in Chianti! Visit Chianti from Florence and enjoy the most authentic and fascinating side of Tuscany on a day-trip... Delight your senses and admire some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world with a new wine tour in Chianti. An afternoon to discover one of the most famous wine areas of Italy, leaving from Florence and conveniently travelling by bus with a guide.
The beautiful Chianti Hills are a small mountain range located between the provinces of Siena and Florence, although the boundaries of the area are not clearly defined and follow those of the homonymous wine area formed in 1932. Rolling hills, often lined with countless rows of vineyards and olive groves, picturesque villages, small churches and large farmhouses ... This, in a nutshell, is Chianti: an area known and appreciated all over the world, a succession of postcard landscapes that cannot be missed during a visit to Tuscany.
The towns included in the Chianti region are part of the production area of the DOCG Chianti red wine. After the creation and success of the wine area, many of these towns have added the words ‘in Chianti’ to their name, an example is the town of Greve, now Greve in Chianti, which we will visit during our Chianti wine tour from Florence.
During our Chianti tour from Florence, you will discover the authentic flavours of Tuscan traditions by tasting the most famous specialties of the area in two Chianti wineries to visit.
Our Chianti tour starts in Florence and includes the transfer by bus and guide for the duration of the tour. The first part of our Chianti wine tasting tour includes a visit to two wineries, where you will taste tantalizing Italian crostini and other typical local delicious produces accompanied by two Chianti wine tastings, one of the most renowned Italian wines. You will then visit the hub of the wineries where the wine is made and stored and at the same time you will be explained the various stages of the wine making process.
After the tasting, our Chianti day trip will continue to the charming town of Greve in Chianti, one of the best known villages of the Chianti area. Here you will have time to visit the centre freely and buy some typical products in the many shops of the town, if you wish to, or taste the famous homemade icecream.
Greve in Chianti is a charming medieval village situated along the Via Chiantigiana, connecting Florence to Siena through the picturesque area of Chianti…. can you picture the classic vineyard scenes that are instantly recognizable on postcards and souvenir photos? Well, get ready to see breathtaking views: take part in our unmissable tour, a delight for the palate ... and the eyes!
Thanks to its favorable position, the village has played a leading role as a market centre…Today Greve in Chianti is one of the places not to be missed if you want to visit a Chianti winery, a unique opportunity to combine flavours, history and tradition!
Walking through the calm and quiet streets of the center, where you can sense the typical atmosphere of the time-honoured Tuscan villages, you will reach Piazza Matteotti, known for its distinctive triangular shape and arched loggias that surround it. The square has always been the commercial center of Greve: here you will find different shops and numerous restaurants. In addition, every Saturday morning, the local market takes place with stalls of clothing, leather, handmade pottery but also local products.
Do not miss the many events that take place in Piazza Matteotti in the year: the classic Chianti wine Festival, the antiques fair and the Flower Festival.
In the square you will find the elegant bronze statue dedicated to the navigator Giovanni Verrazano and the nearby Church of Santa Croce, which overlooks the square and houses the wonderful paintings of the school of Fra Angelico.
Noteworthy is also the Wine Museum, an interesting journey through history, culture and tradition that will tell you everything about this typical product known around the world.
The return to Florence will take place late afternoon.
Typical products, fabulous landscapes and ancient traditions in one of the best Chianti tours from Florence. Unforgettable routes, to capture the authentic flavours of the Tuscan tradition.
