From June 13 to 16 Florence is ready to ‘ignite’ thanks to Firenze Rocks 2019, the third edition of the great Tuscan festival that every year hosts internationally renowned artists and truly legendary bands. Many of the most important concerts of the 2019 rock festivals in Europe will take place here with a mix of styles that will appeal to the more ‘extreme’ rockers as well as to the most avant-garde ones. FIRENZE ROCKS 2019 PROGRAM

• Thursday 13 June, from 21.00 - Arena del Visarno
  In Florence Tool will be among the bands that will break the ice of the first night. It is a formation that has shaken the foundations of alternative and progressive rock thanks to concerts that mix music, video and visual effects. What else to say.... a live concert you cannot miss! The same evening will also showcase Smashing Pumpkins in Florence, the legendary alternative American rock band considered among the most important of the '90s: their return follows the release of a new album in November 2018. There will also be Dream Theater in Florence on June 13 to warm up the atmosphere with their progressive metal and songs from their latest work 'Distance over time'. But that’s not the end of it! The packed line-up of Firenze Rocks in this incredible evening will also feature Badflower from US and the British heavy group Skindred.

• Friday 14 June, from 21.00 - Arena del Visarno
  In 2019 there will be three Ed Sheeran live concerts in Italy and one of these will be included in the 2019 rock events in Florence. There is no denying that the participation of the English singer-songwriter at the third edition of Firenze Rocks has made the purists of the genre turn up their noses. In short, Ed Sheeran is certainly not a rocker but there is no denying that his music mix of folk, soul and R&B has conquered the whole world. Right then, this time even die-hard rockers will feel all mellow and romantic thanks to the presence of Ed Sheeran in Florence: all singing 'Perfect' with smartphones on! The task of giving a boost of adrenaline to the evening will be down to Snow Patrol, in Florence for the first time. It is a British rock band formed in 1997 but recently under the limelight again with their new album 'Wildness'. The evening of July 14 will also see on the stage of the Visarno Arena the performance in Florence of Zara Larsson, the Swedish singer, composer and dancer famous for her collaboration in 'This on's for you', David Guetta’s anthem for the 2016 European football Championship. The second evening of the program of Firenze Rocks 2019 also includes the American singer-songwriter Matt Simmons’ live concert.

• Saturday 15 June, from 21.00 - Arena del Visarno
  The lineup of the third evening will feature Eddie Vedder in Florence: known mainly as the singer of the alternative grunge group Pearl Jam, he is also a talented singer-songwriter and guitarist and that’s how he will perform on the stage of the Visarno Arena. The other artist on the bill of the program of Firenze Rocks 2019 is multifaceted Glen Hansard, singer-songwriter, guitarist and front man of the rock group The Frames.

• Sunday 16 June, from 21.00 - Arena del Visarno
  The participation of The Cure at Firenze Rocks 2019 will end the festival with a 'bang'! The iconic British post-punk band, whose beginnings date back to 1976, have announced they will release a new album by March 29. Get ready to listen to The Cure concert in Florence to discover their new songs. The final evening of the concert will also feature on the Cascine stage Sum 41 from Canada and one of the world’s leading band of the pop-punk genre. In addition to Sum 41 in Florence in this magical evening you will also be able to watch the live concert of Editors in Florence, a British band that released their latest album 'Violence' in March 2018 followed by a highly acclaimed tour.

All the Florence 2019 Rock events will take place in the Visarno Arena, a large green area not far from the historic center of the beautiful capital, easy to reach by any means of transport.
