The 2019 edition of Firenze Flower Show will take place on May 25th and 26th at the Giardino Corsini, an unmissable flower market and exhibition of rare plants but also an opportunity to attend many free workshops and courses. After the success of the past editions of the Arezzo Flower Show, this year the festival moves to the Tuscan capital, becoming one of the most beautiful outdoor events of the season. What’s better than spending a spring day outdoors surrounded by plants and flowers? As it is well known, once the grim winter days are over, this is precisely what we all need: a bit of sunshine, greenery and the myriad colors of flowers. The Florence Flower Show in 2019 will feel like a fantastic immersion in the most palpitating and luxuriant nature. Florence Flower show 2019: much more than the usual flower and plant fair!

Giardino Corsini in Florence: a green location in the heart of the city.

Where will this wonderful gardening fair and must-see flower market take place in Florence? In the splendid setting of Giardino Corsini, which is the park of an ancient villa located near the historical center in the Porta al Prato area. For those who don’t know Florence very well, all you need to know is that you can reach it from the Santa Maria Novella railway station in about 10 minutes and that it is served by public transport.

But let's talk about the gardens: they are located inside Palazzo Corsini and are some of the most beautiful and famous gardens in the city, housing works by great sixteenth-century artists such as Giambologna and Buontalenti. The park was designed by Gherardo Silvani on commission from the Corsini family. It was originally an Italianate garden laid out with square hedges and sculptures with bases of different sizes so as to increase the depth perception. In the garden there is also a maze and there are many turtles that derive from a colony that has made this garden their home from the beginning. At the end of the 19th century the Italian garden, according to the fashion at the time, was transformed into an English one with lush bushes and narrow paths surrounded by thick vegetation. The layout of the Italian-style garden has been preserved in the front section with an avenue surrounded by statues. Among the illustrious presences that have sheltered in the shade of its plants are Queen Victoria of England and Margherita of Savoy.
